Today we are going to talk about bullying, this is a very important issue to discuss because the impact of bullying is huge and affects the victim mentally. Not just the victim, but also the feelings of his family.
Let's take a look at bullying that just happened in Gresik last month. There was a perpetrator (student) who was trying to extort money from the victim. The perpetrator was the older student of the victim. The incident began when the victim was playing in the school yard, suddenly he was pulled by the perpetrator who was suspected of being an older student into one of the hallways at school. The victim's older student forcibly asked for money, but the victim did not comply. The perpetrator, who became angry, then poked the victim's right eye with a meatball stick. Then the victim ran to the bathroom to wash her eyes which were watering from the puncture. When she returned home, her father saw blood stains on the victim's uniform and her eyes were red. Then her father decided to take her to the doctor, because his daughter had a blurred view of her right eye. The doctor diagnosed the victim with permanent blindness in her right eye.
The case was taken to the law, but the perpetrator's parents did not accept it and the school did not try to defend the victim. Instead of taking part in investigating the bullying case, the headmaster denied the existence of the case and argued that it was just a joke between students. When the police asked for data recorded by CCTV, the school said that the CCTV recorded was error. But after checking again, the recording data had disappeared, it seemed that the school had participated in planning to cover up the case. It can be concluded that bullying is detrimental in every way, mental, physical disability and material. even many of the victims of bullying said that they still remember the incident and always repeat it in their minds even though they have forgiven the perpetrator. Bullying does not only happen in real life such as school life, but also on social media. the perpetrators are not only from peers, but also strangers. such as hate comments on someone's post. with the rise of bullying cases like this, we should be able to be smart in selecting the good and right things.
